Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport® are both highly purified medications that temporarily stop facial muscles from contracting, which work to smooth wrinkles and creases, giving the face a more youthful refreshed aesthetic appearance.
Dysport® is the newest alternative to Botox® Cosmetic and has many of the same benefits of Botox® Cosmetic injections.
Injections of Botox® Cosmetic or Dysport® are performed with very fine needles inserted into the area of concern. At Nouveau Cosmetic Center, Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport® are one of the most commonly performed treatments at our Newark, Hockessin and Rehoboth Delaware offices.

The Consultation
At Nouveau Cosmetic Center, we offer consultations in our Newark, Hockessin and Rehoboth Delaware locations with our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Lawrence Chang, our physician assistant or our plastic surgery nurse to assess your concerns prior to treatment.
One of our plastic surgeons will be happy to discuss all aspects of the treatment process with you, as well as address any questions or concerns you may specifically have to improve facial wrinkles, crow’s feet, eyebrow and eyelid placement.
Recovery
After having Botox® Cosmetic or Dysport®, you can expect to return to normal activities immediately after the procedure. Some temporary bruising at the injection site may occur. After injection, you should not press or massage the area or lay down for four hours to allow for absorption of the Botox® Cosmetic/Dysport®.
Results
Botox® Cosmetic/Dysport® partially blocks the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. This causes the muscles that are related to expression to relax. After the solution takes effect, the overlying skin will be smooth and unwrinkled.
Results of treatment can be seen in 2 – 14 days and typically last 3 – 5 months. The effects of Botox® Cosmetic or Dysport® can be maintained with subsequent treatments to continue to smooth wrinkles and enhance your appearance.
