Pelleve Newark
What is Pelleve?
Pelleve is a noninvasive treatment using radiofrequency heat energy to help with wrinkle reduction. It works by heating the deep layers of the skin, which assists in stimulating your own body’s natural production of collagen.
How does Pelleve work?
Pelleve bypasses the surface skin layer to deliver radiofrequency heat energy down to the dermal layer. Within the dermal layer, Pelleve works to break down collagen, allowing the body to regenerate new collagen to fill and soften wrinkles and lines on the surface of the skin.
What does the procedure feel like?
Patients have reported Pelleve treatments to feeling similar to a hot stone massage. No anesthesia is needed during the treatment.
Are there contraindications to having Pelleve?
If you have a pacemaker, defibrillator implant or auto-immune disease, Pelleve may not be the right treatment for you. We do not know the effects Pelleve has on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How many treatments are recommended?
Our recommendations are 3 treatments, 1 month apart, with the possibility of a one-time treatment every 6 to 12 months for maintenance. However, this may vary from patient to patient.
Is there anything I can do to prepare for my treatment with Pelleve?
We recommend avoiding all acne medications and retinols one week prior to your treatment with Pelleve, as they can make your skin more sensitive and prone to redness, swelling, burns. Being well hydrated is key to experiencing a more comfortable treatment with minimal to no side effects.
Is there any downtime after treatment with Pelleve?
No! You can reapply makeup and resume normal activities immediately following treatment. We do recommend daily use of a broad-spectrum SPF with UVA and UVB coverage.
How soon can I see results?
You may see results as soon as immediately after treatment with Pelleve, but these are typically temporary. Results gradually build, improving and show over 3 to 6 months following treatment. This is because the process of regenerating collagen takes time. We take before and after pictures at each treatment to monitor your progression.
