Sclerotherapy vs. Laser Treatments for Veins
Spider veins are the thread-like veins seen on the surface of the skin. Varicose veins are larger veins which will often bulge from the skin. Although most commonly seen in the legs, veins may be present on the face and other parts of the body as well. We can erase these veins by lasers and/or sclerotherapy. The laser produces a beam of light which is selectively absorbed by the hemoglobin in the vein; thereby, minimizing damage to the surrounding skin. Sclerotherapy uses chemicals to effectively glue the vein shut.
There is virtually no down time. Procedures can be done during your lunch hour. Multiple treatments may be necessary for optimal results.
