Breast Reconstruction Photos - Case #3793

Patient Case #3793

Originally, we saw the patient for breast reconstruction of the left breast at the age of 28. Her original procedure was completed using a latissimus dorsi myocutaneos flap and silicone gel implant. Approximately, five months later the left implant needed to be exchanged due to a capsular contracture. At that time the right breast was reconstructed with an implant to make the two breasts more symmetrical. Nipple reconstruction was done to the left breast approximately four months later as well as a partial reduction to the right breast. Six years later the patient returned with breast cancer in the right breast. At this time a mastectomy was done to remove the breast and a tissue expander with an Alloderm graft was done to begin the reconstruction faze of the right breast. About eight months later the tissue expander was removed and a 550 cc silicone gel implant was put in its place.
