A mastopexy, or “breast lift,” involves re-positioning the breast and nipple/areola to a more natural, perky, and youthful position. Weight gain or loss, pregnancy, breast feeding, the effects of gravity, and changes in skin quality all can play a part in breast sagging or ‘ptosis.’ In addition, an implant adds volume to the breast, particularly its upper pole, when a breast lift alone may not be enough to meet a woman’s aesthetic goals.
