During the liposuction procedure, the surgeon creates incisions in the areas where liposuction will take place. An instrument called a "cannula" is then inserted into the selected areas to suction out excess fat. Finally, the incisions are closed. During the sclerotherapy procedure, a solution is injected directly into the veins to make them disappear. This is a fairly brief procedure that is performed during a scheduled office visit.
