Upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is not only done for cosmetic reasons. It is also done to improve vision. In these before and after pictures this patient had what we refer to as a functional blepharoplasty. First, the patient was sent to have a visual field test, which she failed showing that the excess skin was affecting her vision. After the surgery she was able to see more clearly.
