Breast Reconstruction Photos - Case #2884

Patient Case #2884

This is a 41-year-old female with left breast cancer who previous underwent a mastectomy and radiation and is now desiring reconstruction. Her reconstruction was completed in two surgeries. The first procedure consisted of the left breast being reconstructed with a latissimus dorsi myocutaneos flap and tissue expander placement, as well as a mastopexy to the right breast. Over the next few months the patient was seen in the office to fill her tissue expander preparing her for the second stage of her reconstruction.
Now at 42 and approximately three months after the first stage of reconstruction, the second stage is now ready to begin. Over the three months her tissue expander was filled to 720cc. At the second surgery her tissue expander was then removed and replaced with a 700cc high profile silicone gel implant. The right breast also had a revision to the mastopexy to get the two breasts more symmetrical.
