  • Most common form of skin cancer
  • Appear as a small pearly or waxy bump which can often bleed easily
  • Cut that won’t heal

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) is a very common cancer [2.8 million diagnoses each year, lifetime incidence of approximately 30%], seen with direct correlation to sun exposure. These areas tend to be crusty, bleed easily, or have a raised pearly look. Basal cell cancers cause problems locally but essentially never spread; therefore treatment involves locally removing the spot. While this is often simple, when the cancer increases in size, or is located on the face, care must be taken to remove it adequately but preserve your appearance.
