Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are frequently used to address a wide variety of skin care concerns including wrinkles, acne, anti-aging, sun damage and excess pigmentation on any area of the face and chest.  There are many types of chemical peels which may include one chemical such as glycolic acid or trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or a combination of chemicals.  Chemical peels also come in varying strength as well as application processes.  Chemical peels can range from mild with no downtime to moderate and deep with varying downtime.  More downtime after a chemical peel often equals a more significant result.  Nouveau Medispa provides chemical peels during facials as well as more advanced peels like a ViPeel and Obagi Blue Peel.

A Vi Peel is a combination of TCA, phenol, salicylic acid and vitamin A and a botanical blend that is medical grade and is a predictable, painless chemical peel with no downtime.  Clients at Nouveau Medispa rank a ViPeel as their favorite.  A ViPeel provides results.  A ViPeel is commonly used on the face and in addition is often used on the décolletage and hands.  Since it is suitable for all skin types, a ViPeel can benefit most everyone.

Another peel offered at Nouveau Medispa is an Obagi Blue Peel.  A Blue Peel is a moderate depth peel that uses TCA mixed with a blue indicator solution.  An Obagi Blue Peel will lead to the removal of dead, damaged and aged skin.  The clarity and tightness of the skin is overall improved.  A Blue Peel can significantly improve excess hyperpigmentation, freckles, wrinkles, lines and acne as well as acne scarring.  The Obagi Blue Peel is a medical grade peel and can only be administered in a doctor’s office.  After the peel, you will experience moderate to intense peeling and makeup cannot be applied during this period.  The treatment area should be completely healed in 7 – 10 days revealing younger looking, clearer skin.  Results of an Obagi Blue Peel will continue for up to 3 months after treatment.

Before any chemical peel, it is important to meet with our aestheticians at Nouveau Medispa to get a detailed skin care history and analysis to make sure a chemical peel will address your concerns.  Before a moderate depth chemical peel, the skin is prepped to enhance the penetration and outcome of your chemical peel.  After your chemical peel, the aesthetician can help you maintain your results.  A chemical peel can be used in conjunction with Intense Pulsed Light, facials or microdermabrasions
